tinyreef
it's not yet listed on their site (riopump.net) but i just saw it advertised in fama. i couldn't see any specific or schematics but it's basically a hob simmer. looks like a cross between a penguin hob, skilter, and a prizm. some of its listed features: needlewheel filter cartridge capable 110 gph adjustable level rated for 20g looks a little cheesy though. not sure what the price is though but i'd guess skilter-range. travisurfer
id stick to cpr's bakpak or remoras nanoskimmer if you can fit it. Link to comment
andre
I never liked Rio. I doubt this will be a good one. Link to comment
seabass
Sounds interesting; I’ve always wondered why there isn't a better HOB filter/skimmer combination on the market today. Link to comment

I doubt this will be a good one.yah, their reputation ain't going to help them sell this unit imo. but at least it looks better than the Current Nanoskimmer pos imo though. i just wonder if it works decently. i wouldn't expect for much but it seems like a compact unit (prizmish?). lgreen
if it is offered at a good price, they might have a shot. heck, coralife has made money on newbs for years (oh no you didn't!) lol j/k Link to comment

lgreen
typically anything made by via aqua is crap with the exception of there tanks. Link to comment
travisurfer
haha. never really knew. it would be nice if all in one hob would come out though. Link to comment

travisurfer
i doubt this think could outperform my bakpak and at $50 used i dont think the price difference will be that great. Link to comment

Maeda
Rios makes all the pumps for the Coralife skimmers and those things are reported to work well. Link to comment
Sea_Of_Treachery
i wouldn't trust that crappy looking thing , plus its rio, their powerheads suck, don't they have oil in them or something? Link to comment
travisurfer
that problem was resolved years ago. their pumps are now being used in remoras, bak paks, CSS, etc. i think the skimmer could be decent though i wont even touch it until i hear many great reviews. Link to comment
jmt
The problem with the bak pak is that it's friggin' huge. If this thing is around AC 500 or smaller in size, it should be quite nice (assuming that it works). Link to comment
travisurfer
i sold my bakpak since it just got annoying Link to comment
