non-photosynt
I'm in the process of setting less than 1 gal acrylic pico for feeding Sun coral with frequent water changes. Bought HOB the smallest filter, just for water movement, Red Sea brand. Unfortunately, even leveled it has quite strong vibration. How to reduce it? I put the tank onto two foam rubber mats (kneeling pads), put pieces of these mats at places of the filter contact with the tank, still not good enough. I'm sure somebody already encountered this problem. What could be done? Link to comment
riotj
Don't have that problem - sometimes there is a ver minor vibration, not really a vibration with the filter top on and I just press it back on and it stops, it more of a noise than a vibration. Sound like yours is real strong. Maybe the impeller or rod is not set correctly. I'd bring it back and try another one. Good idea with the sun coral. Link to comment
Fishfreak218
maybe a thin peice of styrofoam.... Link to comment

schaadrak
I agree w/riot, take the HOB and get a new one. They shouldn't have a strong vibration. Link to comment
The Hound
I also agree. I have a Red Sea Nano HOB filter and it's super quiet and there is no vibration. Link to comment
