bakes
I had 10 pounds of live rock left outside without water and over a cold Manitoba Winter. I am now going to put the rock back under water. It will go into a 10 gallon tank with old salt water from my other tank. Do I rinse off the rock?? Or just add some salt water. Can I rinse in tap water?? This old water will help this tank get going again, because of the bacteria and stuff right?? I am also adding live sand HOW LONG Unitl it will be healthy? 2 weeks, 2 months???? Is the smell going to be as bad as I imagine??? I just want this tank for mushrooms and green stars. Not much light on top. Any help wuold be great Link to comment

supersecretshinto
I would guess most everything in those rocks is dead. The live sand should help in the bacteria department but you're gonna want some fresh live rock to bring in some pods etc. Link to comment
