freakaccident
It is a Caulastrea, but it is hard to tell if it is furcata or not. How can I tell the difference? Mine doesn't look as soft and puffy as the one in the pic above. Link to comment
sjpresley
In general, color is a horrible character to use, but C. furcata is usually referred to as candy cane coral because it is brown with green centers and green radial stripes. Most other Caulastrea are more solid in color....usually a tannish-light purple to brown. C. furcata seem a bit less hardy and slower growing than other species of the genus. And it probably with go through times when it isn't all that happy and looks rather skeletal...it shoud expand within a week or so if all is well in your tank. Link to comment
freakaccident
Mine is all green. The stems are stone looking but the bulbs have always been green except for the white tentacles that stick out sometimes. Link to comment
