canopy support question

i am gonig to build this canopy for my 40b, my question is when the top is up wont it be too much pressue on that little piece of wood in the back, also i am wondeirng if you have to put glass between my 4vho bulbs with waterproof endcaps, and where my ballest can go

should be fine. the 2 side pieces © will also take some of the presure.

 

i'd extend the length of side c pieces to the full depth of the tank if your concerned.
