arrow crab died

My arrow crab just died and im wondering why. My ammonia is at 0.0 nitrite shows there is some but doesnt even make it dark enough to be 0.1 same with nitrate. My PH is at 8.2. All my other corals and fish are fine but the arrow is dead. I just got him along with my 2 percs 8 days ago. What may have caused him to die. Hes under a rock pile so im hoping he doesnt cause a ammonia spike but i think the bristle worms are eating him away pretty good. Any ideas of what might have killed him would be great. Thanks.

Edit: S.G.=1.023 temp=81

Maybe the fact he'd only been in the tank for eight days contributed to it.

Also, if he's under a rock pile, obviously rocks fell on him.

Well there are no actual rocks on him its more of a cave that he is in. And the only fish i have in there are 2 percs. Why would they kill him?
