Eclipse 12 and lighting

Recommended Posts

I wasn't sure where to post this, so it's over on the lighting forum too...

Ok....I know the Eclipse 12 is not the most popular tank in most forums, however, that is what i have. I am a beginner with the nano-cube hobby and have a pretty basic setup (live rock, crushed coral substrate, 6-line wrasse, 3 snails, emerald crab, a few low light corals). It's been up and running for about 4 months and i haven't had any problems.

Now i'm thinking that i want to get into to some higher light corals and need to get some retrofit lighting for my tank. I see that this has been mentioned on a few other posts and i have also looked at a few online stores to try to figure out what i need. However, since i am a beginner, to risk sounding stupid, i can't make heads or tails out of all of the information.

Can somebody please spell it out in *very* basic terms what i might need? I want to be able to expand my choices on corals and perhaps an anenome, but i'm worried about overheating the tank.

I would appreciate any help i could get on this! Thanks!
