They are telling you they were not happy with their original location. Perhaps too crowded? Or not enough/too much light, etc. They probably won't like being on the substrate...You can help them find a happy spot by getting them to attach to a piece of rock.

 

I've had the best luck with Discosoma-type mushrooms by placing a shot glass in the tank, putting a small piece of rubble inside, and the shroom on top of it. They usually attach to the rubble in just a few days. Then, the rubble piece can be wedged into or glued to your LR where you want it.

 

If you don't have any "redecorators" in your tank (hermit crabs, large snails, etc.) you can try just placing them on the LR and they will attach if the conditions suit them and nothing knocks them off.
