dga
I plan on using black sealant in building the sump within my tank. i am told by a couple of local fish stores that using "GE's 100% silicone 2 window and door" will work for sealing inside the tank. it does however say in the fine print on the 10 oz caulking tube "not recommended for aquariums" i also know it does not have the strong acid type smell associated with other 100% sealants. anyone have any success stories or information about this particular silicone? lgreen
As far as I know Silicone 1 or 2 is fine. The smell is vinegar. Acetic Acid. Link to comment
neanderthalman
the "not recommended for aquariums" is just a liability thing. The stuff's used all the time without problem. Link to comment
