Due to the level in my display I loose alot of fish. 1 clown goby 4 anthias 3 small clowns 2 wrasse all thought the carpet was a good place to hang out. this was a great tank, very inspirational...but then i came across this... all of those (except the clown goby in my experience) ARE NOTORIOUS JUMPERS. it is not the fault of the level of water in your display; it is your refusal to put some sort of lid or gaurd that would actually prevent those 10 deaths. to be completely fair, i've personally had 14 fish die (one way or another) in my care, probably 10 of them because of my ignorance or stupidly 'testing the rules'...so you haven't caught up with me yet. i'm just trying to get captive-bred only now...so i can kill them with impunity! (sarcasm, people, sarcasm) fwiw, anthony calfo says that for every organism that makes it to someone's tank, about 20 others have died between the ocean and the LFS. if that were true then my 13 wild caught fish x 20 = 260. I have been kicking myself every day for tearing down this tank. every now and then you dial a tank in so good , this was a perfect example. i wanted more, but ended up missing my friend the tank..... oh well there is always other tanks I can build but this one was something special. and no kappa never did put in sand!
