Sydwaiz
This little guy is about an inch long and came in on a small piece of rock that I bought for my 60. It likes to cruise around half buried in the sand at the base of the rocks and occasionally ventures to the top like this. Anyone know what it is and if it's safe? It's really slow but you know how looks can be deceiving. Thanks Link to comment
SoS
might be some kind of Conch. There usually reef safe... occasionally deadly poisonous and mostly they grow way to big for a nano. some hit a foot or more across Link to comment
sjpresley
It really looks more like a whelk than a conch, but whelks vary quite a lot (considering there are 1000's of sp., that's not surprising). Most whelks eat either gastropods (snails, bivalves) or corals. Keep an eye on it and see what it seems to eat. Good thing about snails is they are usually easy to catch if they are undesirables. cmoreash
I agree, it looks like a type of whelk, due to the shell. Link to comment
