Somebody probably pulled it out of the ocean when they were diving in florida and tossed it into a tank. I'm pretty sure Oculina is Endangered and illegal to pull out fo the water. Link to comment
fourhand2 Posted January 17, 2003 Share Posted January 17, 2003 not endangered, but definately illegal to collect in florida (as are all stony corals and gorgonians). it could have been collected as far north as the carolinas, though. Oculina are in fact more temperate corals than tropical (thus they are ahermatypic) and it's surprising that it's doing so well in captivity. -will Link to comment
