BBS only keep yolk for 6 hours. I wish it were 1 - 2 days. I breed and a good long yolk would be great, but noooo… I have to have at least three hatches per day. However you are right in one aspect, the lil' critters retain some nutrient value during that time. After that they are just the figurative "skin and bones" just waiting to die off. Though this is negligible nutrition compared to the yolk. There are successful methods of culturing, and fortifying brine, but it is an adventure in its own. By the way, my link to melvesreef.com earlier in this thread was in no way intended to convince everyone that mandarins can be kept that way. His little guys are the exception to the rule.
