pjtech
Parameters are perfect Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Salinity and Temp are all right where they need to be. EVERYTHING else in the tank looks great. But for some reason my shrooms are melting away. Anybody have any ideas why? Thanks Patrick Link to comment
pjtech
I did some reading and sometimes a change in light cause this. I did add another 32 watt 50/50 2 weeks ago but could that little increase of light cause this? Also my temp is about 2-3 degrees warmer that usual due to the new light. These shrooms for over 2 years have been used to 78-79 now its 81-82. Could it be the increase in heat be causing them to melt?. Any help would be much appreciated. Link to comment

pjtech
The rics look GREAT. Its only the blue shrooms. I also have a hairy shroom that is doing great. I have blue ones all over my tank, so I know it is not location. All of them are showing severe stress. I am stumped. Link to comment

reef n ale
Wow Patrick, that does sound odd. How many are we talking about when you say all of them? Are you sure they aren't splitting? Rob Link to comment

Saltwater
A Temp swing could cause melting but you would see the effects on other corals if that was the case. I would say test your water but it looks like you did that, some thing like high ammonia would cause this. If you recently treated some thing in the tank & it had copper in it, that would do it. Do you see some type of a brown jelly or over excessive slime around it? If you do see that you need to suck it out with a turkey baster so it does not effect the others. Is your water cloudy & have you done a water change? Link to comment
pjtech
Water is crystal clear and I have done 3 waters changes. When I get home after work I will see what happened over the night. Thanks for the response. Link to comment
formerly icyuodd/icyoud2
could it be the other neighbouring corals, fighting for space thats causing the melt? just guessing. Link to comment
Caesar777
Are they new? Or are they an established colony? Wild, AQ? You know, for awhile my tank just didn't like shrooms, and they'd all waste away while everything else was fine. Parameters were all fine, too. That's gone away now--knock on wood--but it was an odd few months. Maybe...Who knows? Link to comment
