MAW
I'm in the process of setting up a tank. I see 82° for a few hours in the afternoon with the lights on and no powerhead. What kind of temp increase should I see with a Maxi-Jet 600? A small clip on fan should drop a few degrees and tide me over until spring, then I'll add a chiller. Link to comment
fluidimagery
MaxiJets are very efficient pumps, you really shouldn't see any temp change, degree at most. I run two 900s on a wave maker without any difference in temp. Link to comment
f23power
yah i have a maxijet 1200 in my sump and it runs really well and its quiet Link to comment
yoshiod9
you'll see a rise in temps no matter what pumps you add to your tank. i've heard many times that 1200s actually add quite a bit of heat...i wouldn't really worry too terribly with the 600 though...expect at most, a couple tenths of a degree raise in temp. onthefly
It all depends on the Wattage of the PH.....Maxijets are more efficient than others and use less wattage, but Yoshiod's right....anything electrical will generate heat. Link to comment
