I recieved 30 pounds of Uaniva live rock yesterday from www.saltycritter.com and the rock was definately the best I have ever seen. I only paid 112 dollars for the rock, which is a great price, and I even recieved extra rock. I was able to get some rocks from Tonga, Vanuatu, and Bali as well for no extra cost. Shawn and Dan were great guys to deal with and answered all of my questions, even though I was probably getting annoying. Since Salty Critter is located in Ohio, the shipping was very cheap for someone like me who lived in the Great Lakes Area.

Dan hooked me up with Veron's Corals of the World for under $100! Whoop whoop!

Haven't been on site to visit yet though. Does he get a good variety of live stock, mainly corals, in? I'd be bummed to drive the 2 hours into the frigid north of Ohio for a couple clownfish and dying goniopora, lol.

The last time I was at the store was over the summer. At that time they had a couple rows of tanks filled with all types of sw livestock and had three huge tubs filled with really nice live rock. For a two hour drive, you probably would want to call first, especially if your looking for something in particular. Not sure what you're used to but around here (Cleveland area) they are easily the best (even though it takes me over an hour to get there). There are bigger stores around, but I don't think better.

When I started, they were the only LFS I used because I'd heard good things. But, a year later, they've just screwed up too many things and given me too much bad information about products and animals to keep going there, so I now shop elsewhere. Maybe I don't spend enough money. I did get my live rock there and it is nice. Be careful, though -- mine came complete with bristle worms that were well over a foot long when I finally caught them a month after getting the rock. One was over two feet extended when I caught him - was kinda neat! (no complaints about the rock, though -- and you have to expect a few hitchikers like that)
