ReefTankForMe
Has anyone figured out the cost per gallon you pay with your own RO unit, after the cost of the unit and changing cartridges etc. I know this can fluctuate a lot based on the water you put in, but I am trying to figure out if it will save me $$ to get a unit. lgreen
in the long run an ro unit is cheaper. figure, it cost you anywhere from 29 cents to a 1.00 per gallon for ro/di water. An ro/di unit that makes 90 gal per day costs about 180.00 Lets say your water from the store costs you 50 cents per gallon, then you would only have to make 90 gallons 4 times to pay it off. trust me, it is a better deal!
