Nanobobs Skimmer mods

I bought the nylon skimmer mod for my NC6 recently and the thing is very well crafted, inconspicuous in the tank, and functions perfectly. Within 3 minutes of being installed all of the surface scum was eliminated from the tank. The service was great and Bob is a good guy to deal with. I would recommend this mod to any NC owner. I will post pics in the next few days.

I received today, UNFORUNATLY the tank I have has a hole on one side thanks to UPS..

 

so i haven't been able to try it yet.. I will be getting a new tank on monday.. and it'll be time for cycling..

 

I do have to say that the quality is FAR better then I ever expected. The wait was well worth it (although it wasn't long at all).

I just recieved mine for my 24G today. It works great and looks even better. The craftsmanship is top notch. It looks so much better than my poorly dremeled cassette tape cover.

I made a special trip to office yesterday evening, because I saw, via online tracking, that my NanoBob skimmer had been delivered. The thing looks super clean and professional. After a few minutes of experimenting with placement, I went to bed. When I woke up this morning, my water surface was clear as could be. Even with all the other unanimously positive feedback on this thing, I was still skeptical that it would work for me. How wrong I was. I am actually amazed at how utterly devoid of ANYTHING my water surface is. Before the NanoBob skimmer, it was VERY scuzzy with particles and those oily looking patches.

 

Not only is the product first class, but so is Bob to deal with.

 

Bob: Now please spend the only free moments you have inventing something else nano related. In chamber protein skimmer?? You rock!

This skimmer Mod is probably the best investment for you Nanocubers. It keeps the water surface clear for better oxygen exchange and light penetration and does a much better job of getting debris to the filter media. The quality is first rate and looks like it belongs there.

 

If you ever come up with an acrylic hoop Bob, to hold a Berlin type filter sock in the first chamber you would have something and I would be very interested. The OE sponges leave a lot to be desired.

All I can say is WOW!!! I take lots of pride in the mods I've done to my NC and I'm very picky about what I incorporate into my tank and I have to say that this after market purchased mod is the best thing I could have put into it. My water is ultra clear, no more surface scumm and the new 1.2 version is more than adequate to accomodate my 600+gph I have circulating in my tank.

 

You won't be disappointed with the 1.2 skimmer and neither will your corals.
