EpiphoneASG
I just added a phosphate pillow to my filter to reduce the amount of algae, and was wondering how long it should take till I see some improvement. Link to comment
Steve973
Did you test for phosphates and found them to be higher than you would like? What about nitrates? The amount of time that it will take depends upon the level of phosphates in your tank, and the rate at which this "pillow" absorbs. The only thing that I can say for sure is that you'll see improvement when your phosphate levels drop and there aren't nutrients that'll feed the algae. In the meantime, make sure you're using a good source of "pure" water, and do some water changes, which is the quickest way to reduce the concentration of impurities. Be careful about what you're feeding, and the amount. Skimmers are always helpful with removing bad stuff....... Good luck! Link to comment
EpiphoneASG
Thanks. Yeah the phosphate levels were pretty high. Thats why I decided to try this thing out. I did a big water change yesterday too. So hopefully I'll see some improvement soon. Link to comment
