Cetra324
As the thread title says: Can anybody I.D. this growth? It's been spreading relatively quickly over an empty branch of hammer coral. I posted it in the I.D. forum already, but after two weeks, there've been no confident suggestions. Here's the picture: It's a soft growth, obviously mottled gray/green edges with a creamy white interior. It can contract (to some minor extent) when disturbed. It pulses regularly along the edges, but only in small sections at a time. The ends of each "branch" of the growth have odd... well, vents, I guess, in them. Each branch has one "vent" opening at the tip. The vents have little appendages ringing them so that they can be opened in closed. So... any suggestions? It's an interesting thing to look at, so I'm hopeful that it isn't anything bad. Thanks in advance! Link to comment

Camera is a junker. *sigh* Anyway, from what I know of tunicates, I wouldn't think that it would be growing so quickly in my tank. I mean, it's immature, the water isn't perfect (have nitrates around 6ppm) and I doubt there'd be too much food for it. *shrug* *edit* Actually, this picture -is- clearer. Hm? Link to comment
