Hey everyone, Summer's here and ive been trying desperatly everything i can think of to keep my temps at ~79, but it keeps on rising to 84-86,

Is there any chiller that i can invest in for a 25 gallon aquarium?

or what kind of chiller would you reccomend?

have you tried a fan over the surface? that works pretty good. do you have an open top? get as much ventilation and air flow as you can, youll lose water to evaporation, but temps stay nice and low. you can also look up an ice probe.

Ive tried the fan, it has a canopy but i keep the front panel off, and i run my metal halides from 7 pm till about 3 am, even runing them during the night its still very warm

i just decided to invest in a chiller to just leave it by its self, less fluctuations, etc, more stable , etc

Ive looked around on Marineandreef and on Marine Depot, and i cannot find any chiller specifically for like, under 50 gallons,

Anyone have any suggestions which chiller they use for under 50 galons or what they would reccomend for a 25?

I would think a chiller made for a 50-gallon would work fine on a smaller tank if you're able to run all the plumbing and have a good temp controller. It would probably be a bit cheaper to run two iceprobes if you have the room though. I just picked one up from aquabuys for $85. No idea if the controller will work for multiple probes, but I'll let you know when the controller arrives.

I use a Pacific Coast 1/10 hp chiller for my 29g. Keeps the temp stable during these hot summer days. I've heard good things about the JBJ Arctica Titanium chillers also, and they have a 1/10 hp like mine that would be perfect for our smaller tanks.

One controller, One ice probe.

If you want to control second one, then you need to purchase another.

But I guess if you are gonna run it during hotdays in summer, you can just let one run all the time and run one with controller.
