soheix Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I have four fishes in a 10gal, 2 clown, a damsel and a firefly. I feed them once every other day. I follow the rule, feed whatever they can fish in 2 minutes. Whatever i feed they gobble up so quickly that the firefly doesn't have a chance to eat since its always hiding in its hole. I tried dampling the flake so it will sink faster to the bottom to the firefly, However those 3 fishes have a monsterous appetite. IM afraid i might be starving the firefly and stuffing the other 3. Or maybe their just starving all together.
tMoney Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I'd feed them a little more often, like once a day or more food every other day. And i'd seriously think about getting rid of one fish. 4 fish in a 10 gallon is pushing it. Is the damsel aggresive? They usually are.
JsL Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 2 fish in a 10 is pushing it. 4 is just wrong. Get them a bigger tank.
tMoney Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Well I didn't want to be that harsh, but JsL said it.
soheix Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 well I was planning to get ride of the damsel when i put more coral inside but right now my tank is very bear nothing but a few rocks inside however i had these fishes for about a year. It always seems to me the firefly is starving. also i don't have much a clean up crew, just a hermit that getting big.
soheix Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 actually 11g wonder if that would make a difference
geekreef_05 Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 ...your one extra gallon doesnt make a difference. JSL said it best..that bioload belongs in a 24 gallon or larger. As for feeding try the once a day idea. Or instead of feeding for 2 mins, try going until the clowns seem to slow down there pace of eating. Then the firefish will have time and room to eat. happy reefin'
