am setting up an odd little expirement.

I am going to use 2-24G nano cubes and run them through a 24G Refugium in the bottom. Just how are the flow & return pump regulated to flow at exactly the same rate?

Also what happens when the power goes out and the syphon is still working (Dont say Flood, I already realize this) are there any tricks to aviod this?

Thanks

the only way i could se this work without a prob would be to drill the tanks and have one flow into the other thru a bulkhead. then have an overflow in one going down to the refug, then the return pump going back upto the tank that does not have the overflow. i dont know if this is possible with these nano cubs? maybe you should just get 2 tanks.

you could drill out the back of both cubes and make overflows to the sump the get a good sized pump and use a 't' shaped piece of pvc to send water to both tanks. that's probably how i would do it so if you need to you can remove one from the system without much of a problem.

you dont have to drill the tanks. an overflow system (wier) on both 24 g would work. it wont matter if both tanks flow at exactly the same rate. once they overflow, it falls back to the sump. syphen break holes on the return will prevent the system overflowing when the power gos out.
