Calling all aquabuy 70 Watt retro owners!

I have the Aquabuy 70 Watt retro. I have been using the Astralux 14k (w UV STOP) but have switched to the Ushio 10K for more light. The glassUv shield on the retrokit has tiny spaces that unfiltered light can escape into the aquarium. Is the gap big enough to cause any damage to corals?

Looking for anyone who has experience with the Ushio 10k and stock aquabuy kit.

By "tiny" spaces, you mean like a gap that your fingernail wouldn't be able to fit through? If so, yes it's not an air-tight vacuum-sealed fitting, and it should be fine.

The point is that there should not be any DIRECT light coming out... I wouldn't worry about light that has bounced a few times to hit that gap at just the right angle ;)

I've actually got my glass about 3/16" off of the reflector. I'm not too worried about the light that is coming off at such an extreme angle. The way I have my retro setup, I don't even know if that light is entering my water, it's probably hitting the top of the tank frame.
