jstone624
clown_fish_rule, I have read "saltwater fish for dummys" and can say that the book might have about 65% applicable information toward "reef keeping". What I would like to add is some advice, not flaming or stating how many posts you've made or not, I could care less. I find in most forums there are conflicts with posters, or posters who enjoy posting to everything just to answer, for good (ie: answering ppl.'s questions) or for bad (ie: go search, thats been asked before, go read a book, etc.) now if you are a "newbie" and are seriously considering keeping a reef tank you should go to several lfs and ask them lots of the simple questions (ie: how do you handle lr rock?, how do I mix salt water?, etc.,etc.) make sure you ask several stores, this is how I started. I asked about rock, sand, corals, how much light do you have and other simple questions. If I drove by a store I had never seen before, I would stop and ask similar questions, what type of lights?, what are you feeding the coral. Over time you get an idea of how the hobby functions. I would continue to search online, and gather info., but look out for those trying to puff up thier self worth in forums by being a "post whore". Word your questions wisely, and if possible find a thread that has been started with a similar topic and bring it back to life with your similar question, this will keep "post whores" who would normal combat your question with an ignorant answer such as this has been said before go search, becuase you had to search to cont. the thread. Well hope this helps a little, but plz. cont. reading and don't forget about the library it's a cheaper way to go if you're still in the deciding stage and don't know if you really want to commit to the hobby yet. To other nano-reeferes this is in no way directed at anyone, If you do take this toward yourself you could very well be puffing up your self worth in this thread, and need to shrink your ego a bit Link to comment
