yoshiod9
wow bird, you got ripped man. i'm sorry. i tried to order from him last october or december and he had the one select per order rule. now, all the site said was one select per order, not that you had to buy 5 pieces in order to be eligible to buy the one select piece. so i received an email from him informing me that i have to order 5 non-select pieces to buy the select piece. being that he had stated that NOWHERE on the site, i wrote him back and told him i never saw that rule posted...the thing i saw said i could only buy one select piece per order. two days go by and he finally emails me back...he tells me that i need to read the website with a bit more care because it fully explains what i needed to know in order to order a select piece. what did that jerk do over the two days after i had emailed him? yeah, he changed his website so that his crap policy could be better understood. after just that one run in, i REFUSE to even mention his name to people looking to buy corals online. trekbear
Sorry Birdman, I know OkieBones Personally. I did see what he got and didn't get the last order he placed w/ Blane. Doc is very very very forgiving usually, More so than I would ever be. But Blane Screwed the pooch w/ that order. Crappy Customer service is his game it appears. So I will definately keep people I know from ordering from there. Hopefully you have better luck w/ the other online vendors. Link to comment
bobioden
Thanks for the heads-up birdman. I was just getting ready to place an order. Bob Link to comment
birdman204
Blind.. It's long, but here is my original post.... _________________________________________________ How can someone who has such great pictures of livestock , not provide ANY of it to it's customers. Pictures to follow later tonight. Emailed Perun, Don't wanna hear from him. He didn't make good or credit from my last order, and I don't even want to bother with this order. My email to them : Please remove me from your mailing list. Please remove me from your mailing list. Please remove me from your mailing list. Please remove me from your mailing list. I have yet to see of , or hear of a TRULY happy Farms customer (wonder why I ordered in the first place, maybe I am to blame) I was less than satisfied with my order last week. You sent me more "freebie" crappy commmon zoas I can buy at any LFS, than actual items I ordered. WHY? I believe this was due to a number of reasons. One item I ordered wasn't even shipped (blue anthelia). My blue fiji 20's we're either not in there, or are not opening, and are doing HORRIBLY (read as, peeling off the rock. Nice 40$ frag :-? The rest were either not gonna make it(brown bags, items crushed during shipping, or such small frags you felt guilty selling them for the prices you did, so you had to throw in "freebies" (again , didn't want them , I am giving them all the surviving frags away. Basically, I am keeping 1 frag of the "wicked Rose PE", pale grey brown w/ 4 frags, weak, 10$ a polyp, and the "blue" echino, which isn't blue at all, it is completley Army Green 1 mouth blasto frag.. for 20 + $???? ***? the thing isn't even gonna live, looks like you fragged it right before you shipped it. I will never order from Farms of the sea, and that is disappointing as this isn't my first botched order. Last time, you left out a piece as well, and 2 were DOA. Your reason for not refunding, or crediting towards a next order was , in email, "Hey, I threw in a killer yuma freebie" Yeah didn't ask for it, didnt order it. You didn't square up last time, and obviously showed no intention of it, so I don't even want to try to square up this time. I have recieved 2 other vendor orders in the past week, and their packing makes yours look like a cracker jack box. Your bags were spilling water everywhere, and corals were crushing others, heavy rocks sitting on delicate soft coral frags (leather, melted in bag prior to opening), and ZERO oxygen in the bags, they were all crushed and limp..... Please be aware that this is not the way to secure future customer orders. I do hope you make an effort to change your practices in the future, that is, if you care at all about repeat business. Please do not try to reply and respond to "fix" the situation, you'ev had 2 orders with me, and you didn't fix the first, I don't want you to come and try to fix this just to salvage your Thanks for not much. -Ryan- _________________________________________ It's my own fault for ordering again after 1 bad experience , but I am the type to always give 2nd chances. From me, Perun will NEVER get a recommendation for sales. The reasons go on and on, and I'd like to make this a mini discussion. Maybe Vendors can see what really irks customers FWIW, this ain't my first online order, Do it all the time, recieved 2 other orders in the past 2 weeks, from much less reputed vendors. My shipping box was 10 x 10 x 6 ? How do you fit 6 ordered pieces and 4 "freebies" into a 10"x10"x6" box? My Phishy business order (will start a diff thread, GREAT VENDOR), had 4 corals, the box was 12"x 12"x 10", for 4 corals. That's what I am talking about. Anyways, Done with Farms of the sea. Anyone else feel the same? _______________________________________________ So anyways... I am still not happy, and even though I said I don't want him to make it right, you'd think he'd at least contact me and ask to stop bumping the thread.... I guess if he cares so little about an upset customer , I wonder how much he cares about a happy one? Thanks for taking the time to read it all... With SOOOOOOO many other killer vendors out there, it's a shame that people still order from this guy. Here's lets start a list of good vendors... people you've ordered from more than once preferrably to get a true evidence that they didn't just get lucky.... www.reefermadness.us ALWAYS MAKES THINGS RIGHT!!! www.phishybusiness.com www.goochscorals.com ( i think he is no longer doing it, family med. problems, but if you are in his area.. go by there..) www.exoticreefs.us I told John that 1 of 16 frags (I only ordered 13) had died, but it was OK everything else was fine, and twice he insisted that he send me a replacment and a bonus.... What a stand up gent. Thanks again for taking the time to read. Link to comment
Six
phishybusiness is smash and grab, fyi. At least he is right before swaps. Link to comment
dickie52
Bird, Don't say you weren't warned many times by the master. "Crak" You got just what the "Crak Master" told you, you were going to get. When are you going to learn? Seems like once a "jerk" always a "jerk" Link to comment
birdman204
Six. I believe many vendors do this... Even many "culturing" vendors, buy, smash, heal then grab. I will tell you that everything I bought from him was a frag on a plug ('cept the Ric, but you can't really smash and grab a whole ric;) ). Dickie, I know. I can't help it. Abs warned me too though.. I shoulda seen it coming. I mean if you can get that guy upset...... Link to comment
drdrew
what was that? did you see that? Link to comment
Six
Yea, I gotcha, but he bringd unhealed frags to swaps. Fragged and glued too recently to be sold, IMO. Aren't you complaining about smash and grab from Blane as well as his crappy fill rate? Maybe I misunderstood your points. :/ ? Link to comment
birdman204
Six. Not really complaining about the fragging. He does aquaculture many corals. What upset me was the fact that the LPS I purchased appeared to be fragged into the bag right before shipping. The single blasto polyp was split in half and there were about 4 total pieces to the skeleton of this one blasto polyp... things did not look good for it from the moment it left his shop. Sometimes... Smash and grab is very acceptable. For instance... let's say you get a huge colony of sps or LPS, and the colony starts to nuke. It only makes sense to frag the colony to try to save it. Now, as far as letting frags heal before shipping and sale, I totally agree, but for the vendor you mentioned.. the frags I bought were completley aquacultured.. but I do believe you when you say it's happened... I've seen many other vendors do it as well. Good luck out there and shop safely. Link to comment
Six
I see. I understand the pros of smash and grab, but not when you're not resting the animal afterwards. that's my main beef. Sorry IK wasnt more clear. I agree that getting a colony and having 10 people have a chance at keeping it is better than one person, but to take a $20 wholesale priced animal, chop it up and immediately sell it for two times the price, per frag is hard for me to swallow. then again, i get to see wholesale prices on what he buys, since he is local and the prices and distributors are all pretty much the same, so i can understand why no one really sees my point. I never see aquacultured stuff done by PB in house. He says he propagates, but specializing in acros and only ordering and reselling maricultured peices doesnt count. I guess if you have a shop and you aquaculture only xenia, you can still have a valid statement by saying youre a "propagator" or "aquaculturist" LOL. Nothing on his site is cultured at his place. Maybe he had a mystery stock he doesnt list, but what kind of business would do that? hehehe JMO Link to comment

lgreen
not to mention, he false advertises: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3980614016 also, he sends me a wholesale list like once a week, yet i don't have a biz license, or even a biz, so i don't know why i get confidential wholesale info in my email. everything on wholesale list is an overpriced joke. birdman204
lgreen... Here's what that coral looks like when you recieve it... http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 A month later... still looks the same. Six, If you head to PB vendor forum at reefcentral, He does have many good reviews. I posted pictures of the Cultured pieces I recieved. He does have them. You'd have to ask him why he doesn't post them. Dickie - No I'd suggest other reputable vendors such as logical reef or reefer madness. Thanks for your concern. Let us know how it works out. Keep us updated. -Bird- Link to comment
