FishFreak
That's what I mean. Sorry. Should I run it and why? Or chemi pure Link to comment
Chronicles
If you want to run something like carbon, use SeaChem Renew, which is much better. Purigen is more like a skimmer in a bag. Link to comment

randygsx
Do you guys leave the bag in there until it runs out or do we have to rinse it out during our weekly water changes? Thanks! ~randy Link to comment
Web Guy
You run it till it all changes colors. Could be a month or up to 3, depends. You can then bleach it and re-use it after lots of rinsing out, or like me just buy a new bag when time is needed. Link to comment
limulus
OK, a new question about Purigen: Do you add it before or after the tank has cycled? Link to comment
artarmon42
I do it after. During cycling, I just run filter media (the cheap floss bundle) to catch the big solids. I figure I should let the bacteria grow to the correct proportion (rather the helping it with stuff like Polyfilter and Purigen). Besides, these things degrade through absorption, so why expose it to unnecessary excess. Link to comment
