Bobbozr2
I currently have a 12g Nanocube DX and I just added a fuge light to it today. It's a 13 watt 8000k/7100k bulb. It was the only bulb at the LFS besides a plain 8000k bulb. Is this sufficient to support macro algae or would I need something like a 10000k bulb (which I can get from an online store)? jenniebutterfly
6500k is ideal, 10 will work though. 8 will be fine Link to comment
Kogut
agreed. daylight bulbs work better than whiter/bluer bulbs. Link to comment
Bobbozr2
The bulb I got is a combination bulb. The 8000k portion has light that is on the red side while the 7100k is more of a whitish-yellow. The brand is a Helios PL Lamp. The regular 8000k one is called a "True Grow" bulb and the 8000k/7100k one is the more expensive one called the "Grow Plus" bulb. It sounded good when I bought it. I hope it works. Link to comment
Kogut
Anything will "work" for macro, really. Yours should do just fine! What type of macro, btw? Link to comment
