Bozu Posted April 1, 2005 Share Posted April 1, 2005 my 24 gets algae (green stuff) everyday. i have 9 scarlets and 2 turbo snails that cant keep up with all of the stuff. my light cycle is 12 on, 12 off. i do weekly water changes. does this happen to anyone else??? Link to comment
afiser Posted April 1, 2005 Share Posted April 1, 2005 first you have to find the source which most likly is nitrates and phosphates maybe overfeeding and i think your lights may be on a little long(just my opinion) and maybe get some cheato to put in your tank to get the nitrates and phosphates down Link to comment

How old is your tank, what type of water are you using for changes and daily feeding if any to mentioned a couple. There are many reasons for this problem and with a simple search you can find the answers. I have had the same problem like many on this forum. For me it was just a stage my tank went through. One thing to start with is cutting back the hours of light. I avg about 8 hours a day.. Good luck, Pat Link to comment
