RandyO
I just pulled the stock pump from my 60 day old Nano24 (going back for warranty) and replaced it with an "AquaClear 70" The pump is rated at 400Gph and design wise, is very close to the oem pump. It is also quieter by a bunch (mine rattled) There is an intake cover that needs pried off due to width problems. It is still a squeeze to fit it into the #3 sump but it will go. The feed line needs to be a bit shorter as well. I just got a new chunk of 5/8 line and did a "cut to fit" job. The flow increase is noticeable but does not appear excessive. So far so good on this change. I will update this in a day or so on any temperature problems. As this new pump is also reversible, I superglued the slider to the correct place (all green showing) so that I would not have to worry about that doing something dumb. Link to comment
RandyO
Well full lights and full flow on pump, no temp rise. Guess it will work.. Oh there is an air bleed that needs plugged. Same as the stock pump. Link to comment
RandyO
Well last night I backed my heater down to check heat, tank dropped to 76 degrees. I am sure it will drop more but I keep it at 78 as a rule. I will plug the stock pump in when I get it and update the temp here. Link to comment
