New lights installed

I ordered a 32W CLS Smartlite kit and fit it to my tank. What a difference! It sure looks nice, and I noticed that after about 10 minutes on, the button polyps that were on a piece of my live rock all started to open (before only one was all the way open)

 

I also noticed that since the kit has a remote ballast, the hood of my tank doesn't feel as hot as it used to with the crappy stock light that the eclipse six comes with. I was worried that the additional lighting would heat things up too much, so this was also a pleasant surprise. The kit and my hood required some modification, but for the most part my install looks stock.

 

I guess tomorrow I'll head off to the LFS to get my clean up crew started. I am seeing some of the LS turn a little brown, maybe the start of a diatom bloom?
