CubeGuy
Just bought a really good batch of uncured Kaleni LR and was wondering if anyone had some curing tips. I have heard using a skimmer helps and also low lighting to prevent unwanted algae growth. Any ideas? Link to comment
EtOH_is_good
good flow and lots of volume to dilute the pollution Link to comment
CubeGuy
Its cureing in a 12 gallon cube. I did add a mini jet 606 for flow. I'm also useing this to cycle the tank, how often should the water be changed while cycling/curing? Link to comment
EtOH_is_good
hard cycle = no water change until ammonia, nitrite and nitrates (ANN) hit zero, soft cycle = 5-15% to dilute pollution to liveable levels. supposedly soft cycle saves more life on lr, but probably hasn't been scientifically tested. barbadeau
I just finished cycling my 24g nano. Didn't change an ounce of water, just added fresh water as it evaporated. Remember not to use any additives like Ammonia, Nitrite, NItrate detoxifiers..... changing water can also prolong the process i've been told Link to comment
