Tanked
Anyone know of a decent 5 inch blade (Brand) I can use in a scroll saw to cut acrylic that won't chip it? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
SaltyDawg
No brands particularly stick out at me for acrylic cutting but..... Your gonna want to place two pieces of thin wood on either side of the acrylic before cutting so it dosent chip too. Not just the blade you have to worry about . It will catch and vibrate nommater wehich blade you use. I have had luck using two pieces of cheap veneer and two small clamps. Quote Link to comment

ramanbhalla
Standard Tooth Blades, Skip-Tooth Blades,Double-Tooth Blades,Reverse Skip-Tooth Blades,Precision Ground Blades Crown Tooth Blades are the common types of blades you often notices in scroll saw. As of your question band saw would be the better option for you to use to cut acrylic. If a curved edge or an unusual shape is what you require, a band saw is the best tool to use to cut acrylic. As a rough guide for best results, as the thickness of the Perspex sheet increases, the number of teeth per inch on the blade should decrease. Quote Link to comment
