aquaman7
polyps are actually the small "anemone like things" on corals they have a mouth and tentacles...all corals have polyps...but polyps are ussually reffered to as zooanthids which are corals that have only one polyp..... however zoos branch off of eachother and grow like a mat...and they're all connected at the base links... http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/...lprintout.shtml http://www.porcupinepuffer.com/images/zooanthid.jpg Link to comment
FAC_WNY
I believe he's asking about Zoanthids and Palythoa polyps. If so...they're both closely related...the main difference is in the way the actualy individual members of the colony are connected to one another. (Imbedded v. individual v. stoloniferous etc). Taxonomically..they're very closely related. Cheers, Fred Link to comment
