hesstondc
Hello all! First post! I just got my jbj nano DX. I currently have a 90 gallon allglass reef ready with 500 watts of 14K metal halides and tons of softies and a few sps. I was getting bored with that tank so now I want something new for our loft. Has anyone built a stand for one of these tanks? I don't like the the stands that are available for the jbj tanks. Any plans or pictures would be greatly appriciated. Also has anyone added an extra power head behind the false wall and just drilled a whole through it and added another outlet to the dislplay area? I though about doing this and putting it on a timer that turns on and off every 5-10 minutes for a different flow. Thanks yall Hesstondc Link to comment
hesstondc
Guess no one has any...I did a search and didn't come up with anything. Link to comment
ebin
Like the extra powerhead idea. I have really only seen the s-stand and the two metal bar stand that is offered. Although a stand would be rather easy to build Link to comment

hesstondc
I built the stand last night....It was a piece of cake! Built it out of birch 3/4 plywood. Its freaken sturdy too! I will post picks next week, getting a digital camera for christmas. Link to comment
Sinistard
I just got my Nano Cube DX and I build a stand out of 3/4" aspen. The top is cut to match the curve of the tank and all the cords run though the column. If you have any questions let me know. Link to comment
hesstondc
Mine is a bit different, more square and a bit larger because I didn't want it to be top heavy, its on carpet. I bolted it down to the floor and I can hide all equipment and auto top-off inside the stand. It's 38" tall so its easy to view without sitting down. Link to comment

aaronfmd
Those are really nice. If I have the time, I'd like to build one. I bought mine here http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=b...asin=B0000ZU6V8 $50 onsale. its' a little top heavy with the tank and on carpet, but no problems so far. Size is right, and plenty sturdy. Link to comment
hesstondc
That sucks! I wish I would have found that....This one ended up costing me about $140 but it could hold up a house that is for sure.... Link to comment

Nickeleye
Here are some links to the stand I built for my 12 gal. JBJ: http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.p...rt=1&thecat=500 The frame is 1-1/4" square steel tubing and the outside is 1/2" ply with a 3/4" wood top and a 1/8" black acrylic sheet to top things off. Stand cost me approx. $125 to build. It's big enough for a standard 20 gal. or 30 gal. tall on top should I decide to upgrade later and also enough storage space inside for supplies and also a 10-15 gal. sump. Link to comment
Nickeleye
Just realized most people probably won't be able to view the pics.
