New 10 gallon

I'm just setting up a new 10 gallon tank. Sand is in and water has been added. I also threw in 2 dead shrimp for the cycle. They have been in about a week now. How long do I need to leave them in? Starting to stink a bit!! I already have a 30 gal set up for about 2 years now but I didn't cycle this way. Help would be appreciated.

Don't know how long you should leave the shrimp in there - I'm looking for the answer. There's a good article at:

...under "How to Cycle a New Tank" that addresses the shrimp thing, but doesn't really say how long they should stay in.

 

Have you done a water change yet?

Yes, I have read that article. I haven't done a water change. I didn't think you were supposed to do a water change during the cycle. Did you use this method?
