reale_02
i have a 10 gal with a maroon clown, a cleaner shrimp, and a few snails and hermits, and a crab. i was thinking about putting an anemone in there, but im not sure what kind. if you have any ideas, could you please tell me, and also tell me if that kind could potentially kill my maroon or other tank inhabitants, what size it will become, and the amount of light it will need? thanks in advance Link to comment
Cesar
I personally wouldn't place an anemone in a 10 gallon tank because they sometimes tend to move around the tank. If you have other corals then it can sting the hell out of other corals. But hey if you want to try it then I would say get an RBTA. They require some light but they are not very demanding, IMO. RBTA's can get somewhat big. For some reason I have noticed that clown fishes like RBTA's. Remember though that it's not guaranted that a clown will host an anemone. They do like em though. I've seen clowns host leather corals and Xenias. Haha. What kind of light do you have? Link to comment
Birdie
I would skip the nem, all of them are going to get too large for a 10g. My only recommendation is a BTA as that is what they host in in the wild. However it will need to be a little over twice the size of the maroon as they can be rough on their nem's and the size difference helps to keep them from destroying it. If you can get your hands on the 96w quad bulb that will do for lighting. You will need to make sure that the temp is stable and that you top off water at least once a day if not twice. You wil need to feed it 2 to 3 times a week. Make sure that the water quality is perfect, no traces of anything. Just skip it, it will save you time and money. Peace Richard Link to comment
Dr. Saltwater
The only anemone I'd suggest is the Bubble Tip anemone (Entacemea quatricolor). It's (most times) red or green ... so that's it. Other anemones will get to big to fast and some even say anemones aren't things to keep unless you have a special tank for it. Don't underestimate the damage a anemone could provoke. Link to comment
