Overflow Confusion

Ok, so I am going to set up a 20L but I dont know which way i should set up the overflow. A HOB box is probebly the easiest but it takes up a lot of space in the tank. I am also thinking about drilling but i dont know how i would plumb it. (BTW, what is a durso?)

a durso is a method to raise the level of water in an overflow box to make it quieter because the water does not fall into the box as far. in other words, it removes the water fall.

my type takes up much less room than a box, however they are noisier than a box with a durso.

this is the durso site. i'm just setting up an overflow box with either a durso or stockman standpipe. the stockman seems a bit easier and more compact, so it'll fit the box better. also try reading this nr article on plumbing.

Thanks for all the good info! I think i am going to do it the way kappa did on his 15 gallon.
