abyssis
Hello, begginer looking to build a nano with dimensions of 45x45x45cm, currently in the process of sump design. I was offered by a local company the non-weir (comb) type of filtration, I've attached a sample done for another tank. Would this type of filtration also work and be an ideal filtration solution for an AIO with back sump? Quote Link to comment
Crawford_T
Given the option you’ll definitely want the surface skimming of the weir. I don’t have personal experience with this type but it doesn’t not look ideal. Surface skimming gets all the crap off the top plus the cascade into filter sock/pad/roller aids with gas exchange. 1 Quote Link to comment
Reefkid88
Surface skimming improves oxygenation of the water and removes organic buildup on the water surface. It also reduces par and light penetration. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
SantaMonica
If you did use these (one in, one out), then circulate it a lot so it gets to the surface above. Quote Link to comment
