belabaru
I have got some xenia in my tank for about a month. Looks fine but it does not pulse. I have been adding iodine everyday for the last ten days or so, but it does not seem to work. I have also considered buying a iodine tests to be sure I do not add too much, but they are very expensive. So maybe I could keep adding iodine until the xenia starts pulsing, or can it be detrimental if I add to much? What would be the risks of having too much iodine in the tank? Would you buy the test? We are talking about 50 euros for the iodine test compared to the 15-20 euros of a KH or PO4 test Quote Link to comment
Rhetoric
I wouldn't add anything to a tank without the ability to test it. This seems like a great way to crash a tank. I'd focus on water changes instead. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
TheCoffeeReef
Environment seems to matter to Xenia and pulsing isn't always something every colony seems to do- mine pulses best when i used to stop flow for feeding and when it's in lower flow. I'd agree, leave off dosing, check placement and give it time. How long you had it in the tank? 1 Quote Link to comment
