The Rainy Day Aquarium
Any of the Fluval Evo kits seem to be decent for beginners. My first tank was an IM Nuvo 10, which was the older version of the Fusion Pro 2 10 AIO and it was an awesome tank for me. If you’re balling on a budget you could try local classifieds or your local LFS to see if they have a used setup that might work for you? Quote Link to comment
Staticmoves
The EVO 13.5 fits the bill. And looks great modified down the road if one so wishes. But I have a bias as I loved my EVO, and still have one. Nice to start with a hood as well as that will save on the cost of an ATO up front, as a once or twice a week manual top up will do. and. If you wish down the road you can remove hood and upgrade light if so desired, however at that point would probably want an ATO as well, due to evaporation. you can get a fairly cheap $20 timer to run the EVO light as well on amazon. this is my old EVO. stingray72
housing would probaly know that was more than 10 gallons so id probably skip that but thanks for the recommendation. Quote Link to comment

stingray72
how about two of these on the tank since it has 3 media option and hangs on back of tank? https://www.ebay.com/itm/113966163470?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1vZQBoCgvTAKS6h5uo8jvlw98&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=113966163470&targetid=1583904486362&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9006757&poi=&campaignid=19894961968&mkgroupid=148855406073&rlsatarget=aud-1412318123216:pla-1583904486362&abcId=9307911&merchantid=7961374&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2eKtBhDcARIsAEGTG42mvajN83o3Vzr82wNDoJTAIH4CixKOMPDcRmBZrm_lNtxZn-QE61YaAhJ6EALw_wcB Quote Link to comment
Staticmoves
Are you looking at just fish and live rock. AKA ( FOWLR ). or dabble in corals later, as that will dictate weather or not to push a chunk of the budget towards better lighting. And that being said, many who start with there first corals usually go softies or easier LPS and can usually get away with a less expensive lighting options on a separate timer, that will still provide what the coral needs and great coloration. Someone may chime in with some great options. As I’ve not brushed up on my lighting as of late, but I know the options are there. following your thread, and look forward to the progress on your journey. and WELCOME to Nano Reef! Than you have alot of great AIO options, that should fit your budget including the light. just research those options that have good upgradability for down the road, should you choose to want that later. and will help bring value and longevity. stingray72
is there a cheap enough lid i could get for it? Quote Link to comment
Staticmoves
Just now, stingray72 said: is there a cheap enough lid i could get for it? that light is more designed for and open top. but you can have made, or make your self acrylic tops. or look into AIO's that come with canopy and light. the sky is the limit here, and keeping grounded is tough when build time excitement kicks in.
