Yep! It really seems to like starting on algae-covered glass, for some reason, instead of rock and whatnot.

ahhh happy days. Just wanted to check before celebrating. But coralline afaik likes stability, sooooo hopefully it's a sign things are pottering along ok in my lil cube of ocean

At least you hace it growning. Mune I had on live rock has just gotten thicker,and spread on that rock.

There are different species of coraline that come in different colors, so probably that's what you're seeing.

 Its just strange,because it was all purple when I got it from WWC lol looks good though. Just over time it seems to me that the pink is in lower light spots say like the bottom of the rubble reds in higher flow pieces and the rest is purple.

there's loads of different species. You can even get freshwater coralline

If the purple was on the rock when you bought it, it may be a painted on substance.

lol would love to know what rock @Pjanssen is talking about, so far as I'm aware there's no levitating boulders halfway up the glass in my tank ..... I have also never, in my whole time in the hobby, actually bought any rock. 😂

 No,its not painted lol. Rubble rock is from WWC coral flats,its calcium reactor media. So technically its not "rubble rock" .

 Terrible all blue shot,but on the first piece I flipped over has some. Only glows under all blues.
