Oh man I heard about it happening but didn't expect it! I had a few tiny aiptasia that I was going to deal with, but I recently got a pom pom crab so I didn't want to disturb the tank for a few days to let him settle in. During that time I noticed the aiptasia go missing and the lil dude is waving his bundle of home-made pom poms around with pride! In one hand is the anenome he came with, the other hand WAS empty now has aiptasia lmao

Congrats on your self-propagating aiptasia machine!

(Fortunately, IIRC they don't do well being used as pom-poms. They evidently don't adapt nearly as well as the anemones those crabs typically use.)

Update since this, I have seen one only tiny aiptasia pop up. I wonder if he prunes them for less competing anemones?
