Minireeftank
My Halloween hermit crab ‘Weeny’ is dead 😞 he hid to moult and never came back out, does anyone have any ideas as to what caused this? He was the largest animal in the tank so it isn’t possible he was in a fight or anything, the parameters have not changed at all not even an ammonia spike, everything else in the tank is fine, the only thing I could think is since I’ve changed my light there hasn’t been much algae but the other two crabs eat pellets and although weeny never seemed very interested I figured he’d eat them if he was that hungry 2 Quote Link to comment
demonclownfish
Test for Iodine - important element for molting crustaceans. If Iodine was low he might've had a bad molt. 1 Quote Link to comment

Looking for an iodine test kit online and not only are a lot of them very expensive but reading reviews it seems most are extremely unreliable, do you have any suggestions for an acurate test kit? Most use the salifert if I recall correctly - I microdose Iodine so I never personally worry about it Quote Link to comment
