Rochelle
Hi everyone. I have this orange spotted goby for little over a year now. He has never given me any trouble and has always been what it seems to be healthy to me. Recently, i went away for a week and when I came back I noticed that his belly was noticeably bloated. I decided not to worry and give him time. I figured my grandma (who was feeding my fish while i was away) may have just overfed them a little. Well it has not been a month since then and he still has the same belly. It has not changed much in size. He is still very active and is still seeking out food every time i come up to the tank. Im just a bit worried something may be wrong with him. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated! Thank you. Quote Link to comment
M. Tournesol
It could be an intestinal blockage or swim bladder disorder, intestinal parasites or infection, even a tumor/growth of some kind. For swim bladder disorder, it is possible to do a venting operation. For intestinal blockage (constipation), feeding a boiled and peeled pea is advised. @Humblefish, might help you diagnose your fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
Humblefish
^^ I agree with @M. Tournesol Lots of different possibilities here However, I would try feeding a boiled, peeled green pea or sprinkling a pinch of Epsom salt in the feed to induce diarrhea before considering more invasive options. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
