sdupes
Hi all, newbie here. I just recently put my lights on after following some recommendations to wait 4 months to help skip a big ugly stage. This morning I noticed what I think is a form of algae growing but I’m not 100% certain. Can you help me identify what this is and share any recommendations you have for treating it? Riona
Diatoms, perhaps? Looks like it's mostly flat brown patches on the glass, right? I just waited until it got kinda heavy in my tank and got a couple turbo snails since in all the tanks I've had it just uses all its fuel then leads way to the green encrusting stuff. (And the hair algae.) Quote Link to comment
ryans.salty.crew
Nothing that a simple clean up crew can't deal with 😃 1 Quote Link to comment
sdupes
@10g4Me What would you recommend? I have a 20g and at the moment the only creatures in it are a red banded shrimp and a Nassarius snail. I had a brooklynella situation a couple of months ago and my surviving clown is in QT for at least another week to be safe. Quote Link to comment
ryans.salty.crew
You know your tank the best but this list should get you some where. 4-7 astrea snails 3-4 nassarius snails 5-6 hermits The numbers all depend on how much algae and nutrients is in your tank. Quote Link to comment
