Thread airline through hole

 

 

Attached to pump fitting.  Was a big challenging after compressing tube to fit through hole.  Used folded paperclip to espand tube in order to get it around pump housing.

 

 

It's an at your own risk project - but others have done it online.  Not sure how well drillig hole would have gone without a drill press.  I still don't exactly know why the pump was not working before I disassembled and re-assembled, but now it's working quiet and makes no noises at all.   Next cleaning will see if I can re-assemble properly again.

 

The source of skimmer noise out of the box was the mild gurgling around vent hole.  The airline extension Ports tthat noise and ultimately gets rid of it.  No recommendation of best airline size, Mine is pretty long, but it's working.

Wanted to add - while removing impeller shaft - there's a small black washer at bottom of pump housing where magnetic impeller settles that can ( and likely will ) pop out during cleaning.  Don't want to lose that.
