Did my photosynthetic gorgonian survive ?

This coral was bought 30.05.2022 and supposed to be delivered 31.05.2022 but the postie never attempted to deliver and it was taken back to the depot rather than left. The depot was then shut until 0.4.06.2022 so it spent 4/5 days in a cold dark bag. 

I cannot tell if it is dead or not. I think it's polyps have come out slightly but I am not sure if I'm just being hopeful.  

 

First two pics are from the 4th, next three from today.

It's got some tissue loss but it could still survive if the tissue dosnt continue to slough off.

Let it sit for a few days. It's still alive. 

After it's gotten settled, you can cut off the dead spots and reglue to make it look smaller/better. 

Fwiw, they are super resilient. One of the last surviving things in my tank and it just keeps growing.

Those things are insane.  So hardy. Did you get that peice from the guy off of here? I got one from that dude on here who seems to sell them to everyone round here. Mine got hung up in shipping too and was fine . Plus it spent half the day in the mailbox when it was almost 100 out😅.. couldn't belive it 🤯

You know when it's dead when all the flesh starts melting off and all your left with is the "wire" skeleton.

Thank you very much everyone, I was so upset this had happened but couldn't really ask the seller for a refund because they'd packed it really well and carefully but I didn't want to lose my money and my money. Hopefully it will continue to perk up though ☺️☺️

 spent two days in hospital and came home to this... Chubby tree! Lost some flesh on the bottom but all polyps extended now 😁

I received a frag like that and it was a goner in a few days.  I'm curious to see if yours recovered  / and how well it is doing.

Snapped this of it just now for you. My pics suck but it's doing great. I was worried it would keep losing flesh but it hasn't and is fully extended pretty much all the time. I'm gobsmacked it survived but really pleased.

Keep us posted - I'm curious if it will extend the flesh back down and cover the exposed wire skeleton.

Yes I'm curious about that too. I did wonder about cutting it off and gluing the fleshed out part to the plug but it seems to be happy enough as it is and I'm tempted to leave it just to see what it does.

I bought one a year ago that arrived in similar condition. It did re-grow tissue over the skeleton and is now encrusting the frag plate that I have it mounted to. Give it time, it will heal itself.

I have done this with mine a few times. Takes a week or so but the frags took off well. 👍🏼
