LazyFish
The cube has a fish! At 0.75 inches it looks tiny even in this tank. Not likely to get much bigger. Eviota atriventris Gold neon evoita goby or black bellied dwarf goby. I wasnt sure what its swimming habits would be couldnt find too much on behaviors. It perches alot moves like an inch then perches again. It will ocasionaly swim a bit in the open water then goes back to perching. This fish has been at the lfs quite a while in a tank probly half the size of this one. He seems to be settling in well so far. I hope hes hungry theres an over abundance of pods in this tank. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

They're quite underrated because of their size, but actually they're very interesting to watch. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Looks like it's settling in and getting its color back wish I could get a shot from the side it has these long spikes sticking up off the front part of the dorsal fin. The fish is actualy quite pretty. Excuse the algae this is in a hard to clean spot right above one frag rack and right under another one. I still realy want a crynoid squat lobster for this tank too. Probably be the only other thing I add but I'll probly wait untill I get rid of frags and have an actual rock scape. I did pick some rocks up and some reef putty yesterday. I found someone to take the 4 red shrooms and 2 people who will take one green Kenya tree and some gsp each. That's only putting a dent in what needs to go. 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Made a rock structure weighs in at 2.4 lbs. It's very twisty kind of hard to tell what's what but in person i think it looks prety good. I plan to use super glue coated in sand over the joins after it cures a day or so. Then it will blend in. LazyFish
The fish is doing very well but he is hard to see. Aquired some what looks like either seductions or white zombie. They morph alot depending on lighting so its very hard to tell. It's about 10 polyps of that and 2 polyps of what looks to be grim reaper zoa that were a bonus on the same plug. I know he was growing reapers a while back and it probly came off another frag plug and started growing on this one. I put the reapers on there own plug and they look prety happy right now waiting for them to color up more they were getting shaded by the other zoas. Fts from right before getting the new zoas. I did get rid of one Kenya tree and one toadstool. I'm about to get rid of the 4 red shrooms and 2 more Kenya trees next week. 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Looking pretty full in there. Such a cute fish. I am glad he is doing well. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Another minor mod to this tank. I had this dinky little I think 2.5 wt  "glofish" led bar that cycles rgb and full spectrum. It can be paused on any color. I just installed it to use as a moon light and for when I want to view corals under only a blue light as the skyye dosnt have separate channels. The red spectrum also allows me to watch my sneeky fish without disturbing it. The tape is just temporary to keep it from moving. I used some left over silicone to put it on with just waiting for it to dry. Quote Link to comment

LazyFish
Got rid of a few more frags and 3 more are going tuesday so I went ahead and put the scape in this tank. Everything is still angry but a few zoa are starting to open. The last two coral additions a yellow/green and a blue shroom arrived today aswell as a hitch hiker sps on the blue shroom. The fish came out in a frag but I caught it and put it back in. Its prety upset and hiding right now. Quite a bit of cat hair floating in there. I'll get it later. The rocks been cooking in my other tank about 2 weeks. I also have most if the rubble and bits that were alredy in this tank in the back area for now.heres the hitch hiker montipora porites? Side view. Front view. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Had a bit of a surprise this morning. This is a tiny species of sea slug Elysia species either obtusa or flava. I had these show up in my tank many many years ago from some macros I got. I thought they had died off. I guess they are still going. Havent seen one in years but they are super small and mostly seem nocturnal. This showed up in the 3g this morning I can only assume is was on the live rocks that had cured In the other tank. They eat algae but what kind of algae or macro algae is up for debate. Some in this family are known to go all vampire on macros and suck out the juices. It didnt come on the two frags they were diped and closely inspected. Not a whole lot to eat for it In here. I'll try to catch it later and put it back in the other tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Oh and the fish Mr. Marco Polo was out and about exploring he looks fine. 2 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Some fts from today right after lights on. You can see Mr. Marco Polo perched on his Tonga branch fragment. He likes to dive in and hide in the hole. This fish has excellent eyesight. He darts away at the slightest movement up to 4ft from the tank. The tank is on my nightstand and thankfully his favorite places are mostly on the side facing my bed so If I sit very still I can watch him unnoticed. The branch piece covered in the yellow green algae reminds me of a vase sponge. Hes still on the branch piece. You can see just how small he still looks In this 3g tank. Still uncertan exactly what this is. It has more polyps than I originaly thought. It is probly a Montipora of some sort but the polyps seem a bit more densely packed than most. This is supposedly an indo shroom so this is probly an indo sps. Other guesses were for porites or cyphastrea. Polyps seem too large for porites and too small for cyphastrea also are very slightly recessed around the polyp not sticking up like a cyphastrea. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Blunt tip needle from aiptasia killing kit for size reference. The edges look alot better now. It's polyps are slightly closed from when I put the needle by it. You to see the texture of the base prety well here. I'm thinking this probly is a montipora. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Made some changes and moved some things into this tank. I put all my florida ricordia in here from the pininsula along with my tiny 2 headed rfa anemone and mothership micromussa amakusensis. It was getting shaded out by my lords and wasnt looking too hot in the other tank. I just made an order rhat includes 3 new corals for this tank. Emeralds on fire and jf red ring purple heart zoa frags. I also found a small surprisingly reasonably priced holy grail micromussa frag for this tank. My other holy grail in the pininsula is doing so so much better than my original frag its put out sevral new baby heads where as the original never grew at all and has continued to wither to a speck of tissue while in the same tank. The montipora hitch hiker looks like its happy so I thought I would try one or two lps in here too. The hood realy keeps down evaporation alot I top off this tiny tank far less frequently than my mesh top one. Concidered putting my old ice cap ato on here but probly wont fit. These will probly be the last coral additions for this tank...the fish is doing great its very cute to watch. Im still looking for a crynoid squat lobster. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Still having a problem with cat hair Xp. Some stuffs a bit angry at me still for messing around in here today. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
My newest corals came in a little rough a few days ago I think the heat got to them. Didn't arrive untill almost 5pm was one of the drivers last deliveries. The cold packs were even prety hot... the 2 lords for the 20 look a bit bleached and the 2 Zoa for this tank look a bit withered and dull for lack of a better description. The holy grail frag for this tank also looks dull and slightly withered. Its feeding well but not getting good extention on the feeding arms even with the flow off but it has perked up a good bit over the last 3 days. I thought I was getting a one polyp frag with a bud but its 2 polyps with 2 buds on it. Saw the fish this morning looking fat and happy. Some of the new stuff looking a bit dull still. scrambled eggs are growing well. blue zoas and maryjane are putting out new polyps. The edges of the mystery montipora are turning very slightly green. Curent fts I removed some of the ricordia once fully open they were quite large and were making it look cluttered on the bottom. 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Some top downs. still recovering from an aptasia I found nestled in between the polyps. Lost some color. Speckled fire and ice very under rated zoa. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Some of the frags no one ended up taking ended up being mounted in this tank some gorgs zoa and pally. Fts later once the settle in. The siamese twin rfa Is still kicking and much easier to keep an eye on this oddity in the 3g. Its finaly starting to grow a bit and the tentacles are turning purple. One head is showing both thin and thick stripes with a dark grayish green face and the other side has fine stripes with some splotches of orange with lighter and darker splotches of greyish green. While they look simmilar they are not copies of one another. Too bad the colors are not nicer but they could still develop. Its growing painfully slow. Others from this batch are at least 1 inch across the disk now this is less than half that. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
The Lps were not looking so hot the color has realy decreased under the skyye and pe was blea...so I put them back in the 20. Oddly the monti hitch hiker looks quite happy and is taking on a unusual blue grey stormcloud kind of color with edges having just a hint of green. It's not bright or colorfull but is a bit diffrent. I had added a leptoseris about a week ago a small bit of it. This also seems quite happy. This lepto is a bit odd. I forget the exact type. It's got a rather bumpy growth pattern instead of straight encrusting. It's a dull brownish orange with a lighter color edge and slightly lighter streaks and eyes under the day light but under strong blues the dull parts dont flouress and look nearly black only the streaks and edges glowing bright red orange and it looks alot like the surface if a cooling lava flow. I'll take some new fts in a bit. I just turned the lights on things are still closed. My light timer died the other day I need a new one. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Some Pre water change fts. Marco polo is hiding but I saw him this morning. I watched him grab a scud and eat it it was so big in his mouth. I was afraid he would choke on it. He mostly seems to eat pods that's the largest thing I've seen go for. Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
I may start dosing amino acids to help boost coral growth. I've had success with useing aminos in the past. The zoas are growing but rather slower than I like. Probly due to the small bioload and whatnot. Sneaky fish so hard to get a pic. Quote Link to comment

LazyFish
It was splitting when I got it. The larger one keeps making new mouths all in a row. Started with 2 now it has 6. Mine eats powered foods like reef roids they fold up around it and eat it. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
