Old pic of my 2 favorite corals - the double head above is a dead skeleton now - the single head is alive but looks like it wants to be put down.  Sad part of learning this hobby

Dirty Floss Pad that I remove and daily.  IT's not as bad today as it has been in the past, still nasty and fills up within the day.

Wow, you have a way bigger case of dino's than I do. Just keep being patient and keep trying to raise phosphates. I don't even test mine anymore, i realized that testing often and chasing numbers isn't the best. Instead over the past month I've concentrated on what has been working with my feeding schedule.

I talked to my best friend who gave me my tank and his advice was that every tank goes through algae stages and to just be consistent with removal and dosing/feeding. Yours looks very heavy though.

How often do you feed or do anything that would raise phosphates?

I feed 2x daily.  Dry ( phosphate ) am  /  frozen ( nitrate ) PM

My phos has always been borderline low - I have to dose to keep it measurable.  My Nitrates are at 5-10 ppm pretty consistently.

Looks similar to what I was dealing with.  I posted this awhile back and followed the articles.  They are 99% gone.  Every once in a while I'll see in the morning after the lights are on a string, but that's it.  I almost did a second round on this process but decided to just keep an eye on things...

Throughout the past couple of weeks I have not changed or added anything other than feeding my tank more. I feed them about once a day and am seeing a huge change in the tank. The small amount of dino's that would come out during the day seem to be dying off or being out competed by other algae.

My best advice after researching online for hours came from the older reefing members that had been in this hobby for decades. I would love to pass along the advice they gave me....

A new tank will sometimes develop problems with algae because it has not established any maturity. To establish a mature tank don't add in a concoction of chemicals, instead stick to one thing for a couple weeks and see the outcome. If that doesn't work slowly try to change something else.

I've been told this 100x, but the community also advises me to change something. While some advice may be correct that doesn't mean to change it immediately, a small loss is better than an entire tank loss.
